Akihiko Maeda reveals the details of the Chocobo GP at the TGS
Of all the games announced at the last Nintendo Direct, the Kart Final Fantasy Chocobo GP runner was probably one of the most unexpected. Launched on the Nintendo Switch next year, Chocobo GP will certainly be a fun adventure through some of the emblematic places of Final Fantasy. Recently, the director of the game Akihiko Maeda made an appearance at the Square Enix present event of a weekend of Square Enix at Tokyo Game Show to discuss some details on the game.
Although Maeda did not reveal exactly what Final Fantasy characters would be on the list, he gave us a number - 20. With some runners already revealed, Final Fantasy staples like the Chocobo himself and the swordist Gilgamesh himself . Favorites Fans like Vivi and Steiner de Final Fantasy IX, this number has been a little reduced. It is probably prudent to assume that most series will have at least a certain representation, and we have not seen a single character of Final Fantasy VII!
However, not all about runners - we also had a good overview of some of the actual mechanisms of the game during the event, objects that you can pick up along the trails to the characters specific capabilities. Instead of Mario Kart style objects, Chocobo GP offers emblematic spells of Final Fantasy like Fire, Doom, Mbarrier and Aero. Throughout the races, the players will be able to improve their spells, following the classic naming convention of Final Fantasy - for example, the fire levels up to Fira, which in turn until Firaga.
CHOCOBO GP should go out on the Nintendo Switch in the current of 2022 - Although there is still no much more information about it, it is probably prudent to assume that there could be elsehoods in progress for Some other consoles too!
