Tribes of Midgard: A few helpful tips and tricks for the Viking action
Viking games are pretty cool. This is probably also numerous developer studios, which is why we have recently received some Viking survival titles. The last game connecting to titles like Northgard, Valheim, and the like is Tribes of Midgard.
The Action RPG combines Roguelite, Survival, and Tower Defense Mechanics, creating a pretty interesting gaming experience. In addition, you can enjoy Tribes of Midgard (now € 24.99) with up to nine other players, allowing the whole thing to make up to nine times more fun.
Solo, however, can also be played pretty well, for smaller groups of 2-4 people it is currently hardest. In the game itself you have the choice between the Saga mode, which gives you the goal of defeating the Saga Boss. This will change with every season and otherwise some innovations should come into play with every new season as the title was developed as a live service game. There are also the survival mode, which is much more relaxed to play and endlessly goes.

Tribes of Midgard is not too challenging game, but with the first runs in Saga mode it can be very hard. Therefore, for all Viking newcomers, we have collected a few tips and tricks, so that you can also do your Fenrir the Garaus. While these tips work for a group of any size, but since the author has not acquired the Friends DLC so far, he can only access our experiences of solo games.
Souls, souls, and even more souls
Almost everything you want to do in Tribes of Midgard needs souls. With these you repair your equipment, reinforces your NPCs, they even fill up the life points of your tree and build a mine, a sawmill, and defensive structures like goals. Of course, it s good that every action grants you a few souls. No matter if you fall a tree or a few opponents down, your soul gets for everything. In the various opponent camps is always at least a chest, which offers you a lot of souls next to a few helpful objects.
Already at your first entry into the world, you should already collect souls as they are an integral part of the game. It is important to note that you lose your all souls, you should go to the ground. This can be circumvented at least a little bit by a Rune, but you should always put the majority of your souls in the various projects that you are currently running. Nothing is worse than walking with thousands of souls in the middle of nowhere and lose a whole in-game day at work.
Your NPCs also want a few steps upstairs
Not only your character can be stronger in Tribes of Midgard. Even four of your NPC villagers can be reinforced by souls up to level 5. Bringing a NPC to this level will cost you proud 3,250 souls, which of course can become a very nice sum at the four NPCs. Luckily, however, you do not have to level every Viking villagers on the maximum level. It is enough to bring only the tinker in a normal game runway and the blacksmith on stage 4 and armor forging and the trapper at level 3. This has access to all items to challenge and defeat the Saga Boss Fenrir.
For example, to reach the boss, you have to repair a bridge. You can make the items for this to the tinker, but only when it reaches the level 3. Also, a strong weapon is needed, but already weapons of stage 4 have a proper force.
Fast travel is pretty practical
At the beginning of the game you are in possession of a rune, with which you can teleport you in your village. However, this has a really high Coldown and should therefore only be used in emergencies. Luckily, numerous shrines are distributed on the map, which act as a quick travel system. However, if you have to activate this, so you should go to the big unknown world right on the first day to discover a few quick travel points. These shrines act after activation as fast travel points. Source: game in your village is also one of these shrines, making a fast trip to the breeze. By the way: besides every dealer, which houses in the wilderness, there is always a shrine, so you can quickly store and shop, if you want to miss anything.
The most threatening opponent is the water
The map of Tribes of Midgard is crossed by numerous rivers. These are very pretty to look at, but absolutely deadly. While you can not just run into the water so, the game blocks this path, but with an emergence role or an unfortunate stroke of an opponent you can get rather slightly wet. This ensures an immediate death and, of course, the loss of your collected materials and, much more important, your souls. On these stones, you realize that you can cross the river. Source: game Something good, however, also has the matter: The various enemy types of the game have not received their seahorse and are so quickly devoured by the water masses as they. From time to time it can happen that an opposing archer lies a diverse role, just to land in the water. It is annoying, if a golden horn - the resource, with which you can produce legendary items - is drooped in the water, but at least you do not have to deal with the archer.
Incidentally, rivers can cross them when a collection of stones is in these. You can also easily recognize this on the minimap.
Trees have really not easy
If you are on the way to collect stones, iron, and wood, but your required items will break, you do not have to despix directly. Each of your weapons has a special attack, which costs mana. With this you can also make trees, break stones and so on. Also, some attacks of the larger opponents, such as Oger, can also destroy them, so they can easily reach the resources. You only have to be careful that you yourself do not become a victim of one of these attacks.
Give your resources a new home
As already mentioned, you lose all your materials when you die in the wild. Besides your souls you can retrieve this again, it may, depending on where you died, remove as pretty annoying. To avoid this, you can easily put your resources in the war class, which is located on the right side of your village. Also, all materials in this are automatically used for crafts, so that you do not always have your all resources around with you. In the war fund, your resources are securely accommodated. Source: game in coop mode is also a great way to share the collected materials with your Viking brothers and sisters. For the construction of the farm, the mine, the sawmill, and repairing the bridge, however, the required materials must be in your inventory. There is no real reason for this, it s just like that.
Solo, but not alone
Every night - except at night after the blood moon - Helmonster appear around your village, who want to destroy your tree. Not only does this find her great, but also your NPCs, which is why they support you in the fight. In fact, these are so good in the fight that you should not be present especially in the first nights to distribute the villains. If you have already invested a few levels in your NPCs on the first day, you do not need to worry and can explore the world in peace. Only in the case of a blood mistress, you should fight at the forefront, as some dangerous opponents appear here.
Of course, if your NPCs are in combat, they can not produce any objects for you. While this is a little annoying, but you can just defeat the monsters quickly, whereby the NPC returns to its starting position. The quests always indicate to which location they are. Source: game
There are also quests
Above in your village, right next to the healer and in front of the big hut, there is a billboard with various quests. Here you can always accept one and should do this too. Although the quests do not give any particularly interesting rewards, but you will receive quest fragments for their degree, which you need for the final boss. It is mainly advisable to accept a quest in the Tumpelland right at the beginning of the game. This will give you a mark on your card and therefore see exactly where this is located. In the Tumpelland you will receive silver, which is needed for quite many things. To make a detour to the beginning of the game, so is definitely advisable.
Next Quests there are also events
From time to time you get a averaging that a deer appeared from the world tree, or the cocks Ragnaröks are going on. These are events that are also displayed on your card. In the case of these two, however, you do not have to defeat your opponents or something similar. You just have to go to the deer or to the taps, and press the button for interacting. For this purpose, your event fragments you need for the final boss.
